How to Add/ Edit Flight Area to a Mission?

You can add or edit the flight area to a mission that you have planned.


1.  Navigate to Plan Mission.


The Org Open Missions page is displayed.



2.  Click  on the mission to wish to add/ edit the flight area.


The Mission Edition page is displayed.  Clicking the Mission Area tab displayed the Mission Area page.



3.  Click No flight area is set.  Click Edit.


The Set Flight Area page is displayed.



4.  Click  icon to select the area.


Note:  Click the map to get blue dotted lines to mark the selection and select the area.  After selection of the area, double click.


The Shape Information dialog is displayed.



5.  Enter the name of the shape in the Name field.

6.  Select the color of the area shape from the Color dropdown list.

7.  Check the box Add Contingency Buffer if you wish to add the contingency buffer distance of the flight.


The slider is activated.


8.  Slide the slider to select the distance for the contingency buffer.

9.  Check the box Add Ground Risk Buffer if you wish to add the ground risk buffer distance of the flight.


The slider is activated.


10.  Slide the slider to select the distance for the ground risk buffer.

11.  Enter the floor altitude during the flight in the Floor Altitude field.

12.  Enter the highest altitude reached during the flight in the Ceiling Altitude field.

13.  Enter a brief note for the area covered in the Notes textbox.

14.  Click Save.


The flight area is set.



15.  Click SAVE FLIGHT AREA.


The flight area is saved.


Note:  

  • You can view the details of all the airspace restrictions that fall in the selected flight area by clicking Details in Airspaces Check.

The Details dropdown list is displayed.



  • You can edit the shape information by clicking  icon.

  • Click  icon to measure the distance as needed.

The distance is displayed.



  • You can drop a pin in the area selected by clicking  icon.


The Shape Information dialog is displayed where you can select the marker from the Marker Type dropdown list, add any notes if needed in the Notes textbox, and Save.




The details for the pin are saved.  You can edit it by clicking  icon.


  • You can delete the selected flight area by clicking  icon on the left side of the map.

  • You can import the KML data by clicking  icon on the map on the left side of the bar and selecting the file as needed from your system.

  • You can export the KML data by clicking Export KML.


  • You can export KML data only if the flight area selected is saved

  • You can reset the flight area to default by clicking Reset Flight Area.
