As a developing continent, Africa constitutes unstable states due to its underdeveloped economy, inadequate education system, and lack of cohesive administration. Nevertheless, Africa’s political and business elites share the goal of elevating their continent to a preeminent position on the global stage. This advancement will include the use of technologies like drones.
Since being approved for civilian use, drones’ popularity has soared, finding employment in domains such as agriculture, sewer maintenance, photography, and aviation. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have increased in popularity across Africa due to their usefulness in various sectors, including agriculture and healthcare. For example, UAVs are used by farmers to spray pesticides to irrigate fields, monitor crop yields, and precisely forecast food shortages.
Drones have also shown promise as a method for saving lives by expeditiously transporting blood to patients located in rural areas and spraying larvicide to prevent the spread of malaria. Drones effectively provide logistical solutions for transporting provisions in rural areas of several African countries with poor road infrastructure. Therefore, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are significant to African agricultural modernization since they may improve productivity, precision, and dependability at a considerably cheaper rate.
