You can add a flight by either manually adding the flight details or by importing the details from the telemetry log. You can also update details of the flight that are already added.
In the following example, we are showing you how to add a flight using the manual form. You can follow similar steps to add the details of the flight using the simplified form. You can also add flights by importing the flight details from telemetry. For more information, refer to How to Add Flights Using Telemetry Log?
Note: If you wish to import flight details using the telemetry log, please refer to the Integrations Hub page ( Visit Integration Hub ) for instructions on how to set up automated telemetry importing for those drones and 3rd party controllers / ground stations that support it.
1. Navigate to Flights.
The Flights page is displayed.
2. Click Add Flight.
The Manual or Importing dialog is displayed.
3. Click Manual Detailed Form.
The Flight Creation page is displayed.
Note: The fields in light blue color are mandatory in all sections.
By default, the Flights tab is displayed.
4. Under Flight Details section,
a. Enter the name assigned to the flight in the Flight Name field.
b. Select a customer for whom the mission is performed from the Customer dropdown list. You can add a new customer if needed. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Customers?
c. Select the project from the Project dropdown list. You can add a new project if needed. For more information, refer to How to Add New Projects?
d. Select the location where the flight took place from the Location dropdown list. You can add a new location. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Locations?
e. Select the date and time of the flight from the Date calendar and time dropdown list.
f. Enter the duration of the flight in the format - hours: minutes: seconds in the Duration field.
g. Select the type of flight from the Flight Type dropdown list.
h. Enter more information if any regarding the flight in the More Type Info field.
5. Under Notes and Tags section,
a. Enter a general note regarding the flight, if any, in the General Notes textbox.
b. Enter any note on the battery used during the flight in the Battery Notes textbox.
c. Enter any note on in-flight experience in the In-flight Notes textbox.
d. Enter any note on post-flight experience in the Post-flight Notes textbox.
e. Add tags to link the flight details in the Tags field.
6. Under Compliance section,
a. Select the type of operation from the Operation Type dropdown list.
b. Enter your unmanned aircraft system traffic management authorization code in the UTM Authorization field.
c. Select the type of operation approvals the flight had from the Ops Approval Type dropdown list.
d. Select the legal rule applicable for the flight from the Legal Rule dropdown list. You can add a custom legal rule if it is unavailable in the dropdown list.
7. Under the Inspection Details section,
a. Enter the assets inspected in the Inspected Assets field.
b. Enter the number of assets in the # of Assets field.
8. Click Next >.
The Personnel tab is enabled and the Flight Personnel page is displayed.
The personnel information can be added in a manner similar to that added in Plan Mission. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Missions?
9. Click Next >.
The Drone & Equipment tab is enabled and the Drone and Equipment page is displayed.
The drone and equipment information can be added in a manner similar to that in Plan Mission. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Mission?
11. Under the Battery Cycles section, click Add Battery Cycle. For more information, refer to How to Add Battery Cycle?
12. Click Next >.
The Safety & Incidents tab is enabled and the Safety and Incidents page is displayed.
a. Check the box Communication or encounter with police, fire, ems or law enforcement for any communication or encounter incidents with police, fire, ems, or law enforcement.
b. Check the box Safety Parachute Carried if the safety parachute is carried meeting SORA standards.
13. Under Lost Link Events (FAA reported), the data entered here are printed in FAA reports.
a. Enter the controls information values under Event Number column and Event Duration column in the Controls row.
b. Enter the performance and health monitoring information values under Event Number column and Event Duration column in the Performance and health monitoring row.
c. Enter the communications information values under Event Number column and Event Duration column in the Communications row.
14. Under the Incidents section, you can add an incident on the flight by clicking Add Incident. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Incident Details?
15. Click Next >.
The Weather tab is enabled and the Weather Conditions Info page is displayed.
The weather information can be added in a manner similar to that added in Plan Mission. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Missions?
16. Click Next >.
The Mission tab is enabled and the Weather Conditions Info page is displayed.
You can set the flight area by clicking Click to Edit. For more information, refer to How to Add/ Edit Flight Area to a Mission?
17. Click Save.
The flight is added.
Note: You can edit the details of a flight by clicking icon on the flight you wish to update.
